DYSLEXIA
Digital
I used Adobe Illustrator for this project. The word "dyslexia" has a deep meaning to me. Dyslexia taught me to push myself past my comfort zone. Dyslexia taught me not to be afraid of making mistakes and not be ashamed of something that makes you stand out. Dyslexia also taught me to accept everyone and everything about someone else and myself. Without dyslexia, I would not have learned how to work with people with different learning styles and challenges.
I had to choose one word and depict it through digital art and typography. I chose the word dyslexia due to the uniqueness of how individuals with the learning disability perceive letters. For my design, I wanted to show individuals that do not have the learning disability how people with dyslexia see, along with representing the brain and movement of letters. I also included the creation of the left side of the brain and a butterfly to represent the side of the brain that is affected and how, with growth, individuals can get through the struggles.
